Starting in October of this year, Maxima will have a new monthly section to present works that have recently arrived to our project or works of great importance. The first piece to be promoted is Aurora, by Niels Reyes Cadalso, a portrait by the artist, who is already a true virtuoso in this creative style.
The painting presents unconventional colors: orange in the face of the woman painted to attract attention, her hair in different shades, blue eyes, expressive and penetrating gaze, with a touch of mystery that Reyes Cadalso knows well how to provide.
A figure with prominent lips (closed) observes something or someone with too much stillness. Perfect countenance, straight nose and face on the oval impresses by its figuration, its dynamism, its power to say from the silence.
As the mixtures give a greater degree of expressive richness, Reyes Cadalso does not stay on the canvas flat and static, the volume in his Aurora allows us to discover the mastery of a refined technique, a painter who knows how to use the colors in the right measure to surprise and not to repeat himself. Although this type of portrait is common in the artist, each one has its own life, different physiognomy, pigments that do not resemble each other, Niels makes the difference with punctual and heterogeneous details.
