For some time now, artist Juan Suarez Blanco (JSB) has been preparing his next exhibition Counterpoint II Metaphors of Resistance, a continuation of the first part exhibited at Maxima gallery moments before the quarantine.
Let's say that the creator has prepared enough to show an exquisite work, from December 21 to January 2022, thought from the calm, silence and desolation of the days at home with the social isolation imposed by the current pandemic. In addition, his emblematic allegorical pieces are added to life itself and its contrasts: love, fear, agitation and permanence. Any emotion is permissible and justified.
With the curatorship of Maxima gallery, the spectator will be able to see, on this occasion, different moments of Juan's work. We are talking about a summary of his production in recent years, along with the creation of more recent pieces that are a call to romance and stillness, always under the designs of abstract and conceptual art.
With more than 40 years of creative work, JSB will have another opportunity to exhibit the delicacy of his painting, the demands on himself that have been captured on each canvas and the metaphors of a pictorial counterpoint, where music and art come together once again as faithful confidants.
