On the occasion of Cuban Culture Day, the art of the famous Cuban painter Victor Manuel arrives in Rome with an exhibition bearing the name of the renowned artist, where works such as Seated Woman (1927), Head (1928) and Landscape (1936) are on display at the Palazzo della Cancelleria.

During the opening, art critic Luciano Caprile referred to the values of Victor Emmanuel's painting, who knew the great masters of his time, especially in Paris, without letting himself be "enveloped by the revolutions proposed by the avant-garde". Rather, he kept his style marked by his original sensitivity.

For his part, Italian gallery owner and cultural promoter Eriberto Bettini commented that the exhibition is a clear homage to one of the greats of Cuban painting, after the recognition of Wifredo Lam, in the same place, in 2020.

Precisely in Paris, Victor Manuel created his emblematic Gitana Tropical in 1929. In the City of Light, he studied classical painting, as well as the Italian primitives and entered the paths of modern painting.

The exhibition was organized by the Cuban Embassy to the Holy See and the Pontifical Council for Culture. It also counted on the collaboration of the Bettini and Co. gallery and its general director, Eriberto Bettini.
